The banks close at five.
The blocks don’t.

Eleven institutions produce the blocks on Arc — BlackRock, Visa, Mastercard, the DTCC, seven more. Every one of them keeps business hours. The chain does not. Somebody has to be here for the rest of it.

Last night

The Log

One entry goes up every night at three. The shift before it is quiet, and it is quiet in a very specific order.

Standard Chartered signs off.
Global Payments signs off.
MoneyGram signs off. Lights left on.
BlackRock signs off. Nobody says goodnight.
Visa, Mastercard. Together, as always.
The DTCC. Still nobody knows what it does.
Blocks keep arriving. Under a second apart.
Still here.

The log is the night shift talking, not network telemetry. Block numbers posted at three are real; the sign-off times are how it feels.

Conditions

What the Night Costs

The fare

Gas on Arc is paid in USDC. An actual dollar, not points. The night shift is billed at exactly the day-shift rate.

The interval

Deterministic finality in under one second. The chain does not sleep in increments. It simply does not sleep.

The roster

Eleven founding validators, named publicly on the fifth of August, plus Circle. Proof of authority. Nobody mines here — somebody decides.

If you are up

How to Join the Shift

  1. Bring USDC to Arc

Bridge from Ethereum, Base or Solana, or mint through Circle. The same USDC pays your gas, so there is no second asset to find first.

  2. Point your wallet at Arc

EVM-compatible, so a standard wallet works. Add the network, switch to it, confirm the balance shows up.

  3. Swap for $3AM

Paste the address above into the DEX. Check the pool and the liquidity lock before you put anything in.
